These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Writ website at trywrit.com and our AI-powered intake form builder service (the "Service") operated by Writ ("we", "us", or "our").

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The service

Writ is an AI-powered platform that generates client intake forms for law firms. You describe the form you need in plain language, and our AI generates a structured intake form you can share with prospective clients via a direct link or embed on your website.

Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  • One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one free account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to collect information that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Create forms that solicit Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, or other sensitive financial data unless required for legitimate legal intake purposes
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Use automated means to access the Service beyond our published APIs
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

Your content

  • You retain ownership of the prompts, form configurations, and branding assets you provide.
  • You grant us a limited license to process your content as necessary to provide the Service (including sending prompts to AI providers for form generation).
  • You are responsible for ensuring your forms comply with applicable laws, including attorney advertising rules in your jurisdiction.

Form submissions

  • Respondent data submitted through your forms is your data. We act as a data processor on your behalf.
  • All submission data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
  • You are responsible for providing appropriate privacy notices to respondents who fill out your forms.
  • We do not access, use, or share respondent data except as necessary to deliver it to you.

AI-generated content

  • Forms generated by AI are provided as a starting point. You are responsible for reviewing and editing generated forms before publishing.
  • We do not guarantee that AI-generated forms are legally sufficient for any particular jurisdiction or practice area.
  • AI-generated content should not be considered legal advice.

Pricing and payments

  • The free tier includes core functionality with usage limits as described on our pricing page.
  • Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
  • Refunds are available within 14 days of initial purchase if you have not published any forms on a paid plan.

Intellectual property

  • The Service, including its design, code, and AI models, is our proprietary property.
  • "Writ" and our logo are our trademarks. You may not use them without permission.
  • The "Powered by Writ" badge on free-tier forms must remain visible and unmodified.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Writ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the Service
  • Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • AI-generated form content that is inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your needs
  • Any interruption or cessation of the Service

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Writ from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your forms, or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
  • You may delete your account at any time through the dashboard settings.
  • Upon termination, your forms will be unpublished and your data deleted within 30 days.

Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
